Aim of the course
This course provides the student with overall useful knowledge about how to manage CSHCN by providing the student with the preventive and treatment general and dental considerations to deal with those children.

a) Knowledge and understanding
a1- Comprehend behavioral attitudes and different treatment modalities for children with CSHCN
a2- Master the classical and state of the art procedures in managing hereditary, anomalies and syndromes in treating CSHCN
a3-Demonstrate awareness of current concepts of caries risk assessment, preventive strategies and techniques as well as its reflection on treatment planning in CSHCN
b) Intellectual Skills
b1- Predict children with SHCN which need precautions and medical consultation with other health care professionals
b2- Analyze and evaluate information and measurements from different diagnostic modalities in pediatric dentistry for CSHCN
b3- Handle clinical emergencies and provide palliative treatment for CSHCN
b4- Integrate personal, medical and dental histories together with clinical and radiographic findings in clinical prevention and treatment for CSHCN
c) Professional and Practical Skills
c1-Apply basic and modern skills in preventing and treating different pediatric dental disorders in CSHCN
c2-Write referral reports when needed as well as being able to evaluate professional reports for CSHCN
c3-Use the diagnostic techniques for proper management and treatment of CSHCN
